2014 Police Memorial Commemoration

Each year in mid-May, the society hosts the annual Police Memorial Commemoration in conjunction with National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day (May 15th). The society takes this time to keep “The Promise” to all those who have given their lives as law enforcement officers of the Greater Cleveland area.

Grave Marker Ceremony and Placement – Saturday before May 15
Volunteers and Survivors gather at the Police Memorial in Downtown Cleveland at Police Memorial Square (Huntington Park) at 8:00 a.m. for a brief ceremony to honor our fallen. Afterward, the group disperses to area cemeteries to place specially designed Grave Markers on the final resting place of officers from our region who have died in the line of duty.

Cleveland Police Memorial Service – Thursday morning, Cleveland Police Headquarters, 1300 Ontario St.

Heroes Welcome Reception – Thursday evening

Police Memorial Parade – Friday 10:30 am
Lakeside Ave. Westbound from E. 12th to W. 3rd St.

Memorial Service – Friday immediately following the parade, 11:30 am
Police Memorial Square

Luncheon for Parade Participants – Friday immediately following service, FOP Lodge 8 Hall, 2249 Payne Ave., Sponsored by Cleveland FOP Lodge 8

Police Fellowship Steak Roast – Friday 6 – 9 pm. Cleveland CPPA Hall, 1303 W. 58th St.
